Vladivostok is a port-city located on the coast of the Pacific Ocean. The geographical position of the city, which is the gateway to Asia, determines its active development since its inception to the present day.

The coast of Vladivostok is indented by many bays. The city is washed by two big bays - Amursky and Ussuriysky. Golden Horn Bay shares the city into two parts, which are connected with the Golden bridge, built in 2012. The structure of the Vladivostok city district includes many islands, the largest of which are: Russian, Popov, Reynard, Ricord, Helena. Russian island is connected with the city by bridge, built for the APEC summit in 2012 . On the Russian island there is Campus of the Far Eastern Federal University the largest in the region.

Originally the town was formed as a naval base on the Pacific coast of Russia. In the late XIX- early XX centuries Vladivostok fortress was built. Today it is the most powerful fortress in the world, it is a historical monument and military defense architecture.

In the historic center of the city you can find a building with a 150- year history, conveying the spirit of the last century. Some of them are located on the street leading down to the sea - Vladivostok Arbat, looking into the lanes which can be found the remains of an old Chinatown Millionka which settled here at the beginning of the last century.

The main attraction of the city - is the sea. Therefore, the best places for walking in Vladivostok, located on the coast - a quay of the Amur Bay, the new Crown Prince embankment, embankment azure bay.

300 days a year the sun shines over the city, but the most of that time falls in the autumn and winter. Summer in Vladivostok humid with frequent rain. The most favorable time for outdoor activities - from July to October. The average annual air temperature is 18 degrees Celsius in summer, in winter -13 degrees Celsius. By mid-August the water in the bays warm up to 24 degrees Celsius.
